Orb News
We are happy to announce that the new Orb album 'the Dream' is due to be released on Liquid Sound early next year.

You can listen to their new track 'Mother Nature' and an interview with Alex Paterson on the World Odyssey mix on Pathaan's Musical Rickshaw this week only.

Also if you are going to Bestival this weekend on the Isle of Wight, make sure you take Monday off work so you don't miss the Orb's live show at midnight on Sunday night in the Big Top! If you haven't got a ticket already though, it sold out months ago.. sorry.

So, is there any chance that the Vuja De single and the various remixes of it will be released on CD? From what I've seen, it appears to be only available via an MP3 download, which is bad for those of us who do would prefer a full-quality, uncompressed version (like we've always bought our Orb releases).

There seems to be a trend for artists and labels to release remixes in digital format only these days. I really enjoy Pathaan's remix of Vuja De myself.

The subject of The Orb came up in a conversation I had with Chlorophil in SF last week. Apparently, Six Degrees is licensing The Dream for a North American release on June 10

Oohh yes, matter of fact I saw my last two Niyaz concerts back to back two summers ago in Canada--in Vancouver as part of JazzFest and the following day in Victoria as part of VicFolkFest!

Two nuanced, mind-blowing performances with two different audiences--quite an experience. Matter of fact, I have a feeling the next time I'll be catching them live is when they go on another Canadian tour :)
